Bass guitar is a guitar which is played with finger and thumb either by plucking, tapping, slapping etc. Bass guitar is similar to electric guitar with longer neck, scale length, four, five, or six strings. Bass guitar adds more melody to the song. Like the electric guitar, the electric bass guitar is plugged into an amplifier and speaker for live performances. The bass guitar is used in many styles of music including rock, metal, pop, ska, reggae, Dub, punk rock, country, blues, and jazz. It is used as a soloing instrument in jazz, fusion, Latin, funk, and in some rock and heavy metal styles.
In 1930 musician Paul Tutmarc from Seattle, Washington, develop the first electric string bass in its own form. In 1935 Tutmarc‘s company feature his “ Electric Bass Fiddle” , as a four stirng, solid-bodied, fretted electric bass instrument with a 30½-inch scale length.
